The Palm Beach Atlantic University Volunteer Nurse Corps (VNC) is a group of Nursing Faculty, Nurses in the Community, Graduate and Undergraduate Nursing Students with a heart for the mission of improving health in Palm Beach County.
The VNC is an additional resource to individuals and their families or caregivers in Palm Beach County who may experience gaps in access to healthcare service, or have increased needs during transitions between service providers.
The focus of the Volunteer Nurse Corps is providing direct nursing care, healthcare information and education, or assistance with navigating the health care services in the community. These services will be provided in the home and at partner organizations such as human service providers, churches, and clinics serving the uninsured. Individuals will be referred for services by partner organizations with affiliation agreements.
Due to a generous grant from Palm Healthcare Foundation, we are able to supply volunteer nursing services to our local community free of charge.
What we do:
- Provide healthcare information and community education
- Assist patients and families in navigating the health care services in the community
- Assist with health fairs
